Ahoy Captain Cats here and today we are going to look at the third issue of Mirka Andolfo’s Sweet Paprika and all I have to say is it’s an emotional roller coaster.

The issue starts with Paprika’s dad and having a heart-to-heart with a coworker and made him think about his life choices and soon after that we focus back on Paprika and the big company party that was all the rage in the last issue. Here at the party, we see Paprika past with her ex, a possible future with a coworker but in the end, what did her in was alcohol, her overbearing father, and her ex who left her in a way that still hurts and haunts her to this day.

After leaving the party sad, alone, and defeated, we saw Paprika hitting rock bottom and I hate to say this but seeing her in this state killed me on the inside. We saw that out of all the people with who she could have gone rock bottom, it was Dill who was with her. After going back to her place for a one-night stand of passion and lust, Dill decided to take the high road and choose not to do it, which not only made Paprika angry at him but also made her sad. After a long conversation, Dill left her place and we saw her in bed crying herself to sleep. We saw the package that came for Paprika and left not only her in a state of anger and rampage, but I felt that as well.

This issue was a roller coaster of emotions, from the very high to the rock bottom, you felt sorry for Paprika. This issue reminded me of a song that you know you hit rock bottom and that you are alone again. Once I finished reading this issue I wanted to know what happened in the next issue and it just can’t come soon enough!
