Ahoy Captain Cats here and today we are going to look at the first three episodes of the new Amazon Prime newest superhero series Invincible.

The series is based on the comic book series of the same name that was created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker and had an incredible run from 2003 till 2018 from Image Comics and was one of the best original superhero comics in the past 20 years.

The series follows Mark Grayson, a 17-year old boy who is the son of the world’s greatest superhero but doesn’t have any superpowers growing up until now. From here we see Mark going through the many trials and tribulations and always questioning if this is the life he wants, the life of a superhero.

The way the series looks and feels here is like watching the comic series to life. The color, the atmosphere of the city and the rest of the world, and the cast were wonderful. The voice acting cast here is spot on with Steve Yeun, Sandra Oh and J.K. Simmons as the Grayson family did a wonderful job bringing them to life. Not only that but other voice actors such as Zachary Quinto, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Zazie Beetz, Clancy Brown, Seth Rogen, and Mark Hamill bring the supporting cast to life as well.

While the episodes are almost 45 minutes long and they did take out some bits and pieces from the comic series, it does a fine job to stand out on its own as its comic run did. Invincible is nothing like Marvel or DC when it comes to the storytelling, the world the series takes place, and the violence, oh the violence makes this stand out. If you have Amazon Prime and have 3 hours to kill time, watch this series and every new episode comes out each Friday and this series will have a total of 8 episodes.
