Ahoy Captain Cats here and its time for another round of movie news round up!

The latest version of H.G. Wells classic The Invisible Man was number one at the box office this weekend. On its opening weekend, the Leigh Whanell film made $29 million and made $49 million globally. Little fun fact the total cost of the film was just $ 7 million.

Over the weekend C2E2 was going on a DC panel Jim Lee was ask about the DC Extended Universe and had nothing but positive feedback for the films stating:

“So there’s a lot of great positive things happening as that universe continues to move on. I think next year will be the first time ever that we’ll have three theatrical releases in one year. And Walter Hamada’s in charge of DC Films. He’s a great partner. Loves DC. Super creative. Great relationships with filmmakers. So we’re very positive and hopeful for the future of the DC Extended Universe.” – Jim Lee, DC Publisher

Lastly, sad news to report, stage actress Claudette Nevins passed away at the age of 82. She started in Neil Simon’s original production of Plaza Suite on Broadway, the national tour of The Great White Hope, Police Squad! The Bob Newhart Show, Melrose Place and Beverly Hills, 90210. We send our condolences to her family and love ones.
