Sad news to report today as Hollywood legend Peter Fonda, the only son of Henry Fonda and brother of Jane Fonda passed away last Friday.

According to Associated Press, Fonda passed away last Friday in his home due to complications from lung cancer. Peter was born on February 23, 1940, and went on to study acting at the University of Nebraska. He soon joined the Omaha Community Playhouse, where his father and Marlon Brando began their acting careers. Throughout his entire career, he created and starred in classic films such as 1966 The Wild Angels, 1969’s Easy Rider, 1997’s Ulee’s Gold, 1999’s The Limey and 2007’s 3:10 to Yuma.

Jane Fonda has this to say about the loss of her brother:

“I am very sad. He was my sweet-hearted baby brother. The talker of the family. I have had beautiful alone time with him these last days. He went out laughing.”- Jane Fonda
