1989 is a year that many fans of both the Alien and Predator franchises should know, this was the year that a comic series titled Aliens versus Predator was released by Dark Horse Comics and went on to become a huge hit. Since then this franchise has gone on to be a huge hit with novels, more comic books, two films, and of course video games, fourteen as of now. Out of the 14 games, only two of them were considered to be classics, and out of the two, the one we will be talking about is very beloved by both fans and critics and that will be Alien vs Predator, exclusively to the arcades in 1994.

The game was developed and published by Capcom in 1994 and was on the legendary CP System II JAMMA board iconic games were released from 1993 to 2003 here are a few games that were released on this system and board:

The Dungeons & Dragons series
The Darkstalkers series
The Street Fighter Alpha series
Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo
The VS fighting game series

The arcade machine had one default cabinet and one joystick, three buttons ( attack, jump, and shoot) and up to three players could play simultaneously. The players can pick one of four characters in the game and they are Predator Warrior, Predator Hunter, Major Dutch Schaefer, and Lieutenant Linn Kurosawa. They all must fight their way through the city of San Drad in California which has been overrun by Aliens and to see who is behind all of this.

This game was only ever released in the arcades and not once in any form of home console. While this game is over 30 years old, it is still better than most beat’em up that are out in this day and age. If you either find a working arcade cabinet or build one and buy the original JAMMA motherboard, you have to give Alien vs Predator a go.
