Marvel Announced Summer of Symbiotes at C2E2

Over the weekend at Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2 for short), Marvel announced the upcoming season event which they called Summer of Symbiotes. The reason for this event is to celebrate the 35 anniversary of Venom with new titles starting this May.

The first title is “Cult of Carnage: Misery” and is being written by Sabir Pirzada and art done by Francesco Mortarino it will start the Summer of Symbiotes. Venom #22 and #23 will play a huge role in this event as well as Red Goblin #6 and both tie-ins will lead to “Web of Carnage”. Web of Carnage will pick up in the aftermath of the Carnage Reigns event and will lead into the end event book miniseries “Death of the Venomverse”. Death of the Venomverse is a 5 issue event that will be written by Cullen Bunn and David Michelinie and art done by Gerardo Sandoval.

This looks like a bold move on Marvel’s part but who knows this may pay off well if they can get it right and not make it a cash-grab event.
