What do you get when you have a Roman thermae architect who time travels to different eras in Japan and discovers new things to take back to Rome and become famous? Well that Thermae Romae Novae in a nutshell and I love it.

The series is based on the manga Thermae Romae by Mari Yamazaki was published by Enterbrain and ran from 2008 till 2013 and has a total of 6 volumes. The anime series is a wonderful comedy from start to finish and Kenjiro Tsuda does a great job speaking in Latin as well. While the art and history are a bit off at times, it makes up for it with the insane amount of comedy and historical references that keep you wanting to watch more. The series is 11 episodes long and just under 30 minutes each it is a great weekend watch.

Thermae Romae Novae is worth the watch and is on Netflix now.
