Ahoy Captain Cats here and today some big news that came out this past week from the anime world.

First was AMC Network announced that they have acquired Sentai Holding, LLC and that also includes Sentai Filmworks, HIDIVE streaming service, and Cool Japan Fund Inc, a public-private Japanese investment Fund. In case you don’t know Sentai is the successor of A.D. Vision and with this AMC will have a huge foot in the door with the anime market with titles such as Appleseed, Food Wars!, Himouto! Umaru-chan, Made in Abyss, and Vinland Saga.

Soon after that Cinedigm announced that they came to terms with Digital Media Rights or DMR for short and now Cinedigm will add more than 10 streaming channels to their list of channels and they include RetroCrush, a streaming channel that dedicated to the golden age of anime. This is a huge deal because not only do they get RetroCrush, but they also get a lot of other channels that also stream a lot of Asian content such as KMTV and AsianCrush.

We have to wait and see how is this going to affect all the users of all of these streaming services.
