Ahoy Captain Cats here and today have some very sad news to report.

It was first reported by Dark Horse Comics that the creator of the dark fantasy manga series Berserk Kentaro Miura passed away at the age of 54 from an acute aortic dissection, in case you don’t know what that is you can click on the link here.

Miura is famous for what many consider to be his masterpiece and one of the most influential manga series in the past 30 years and that series is Berserk. The series first started as a prototype and a one-shot story back in 1988 and soon in 1989 Berserk was published by Monthly Animal House and later renamed to Young Animal from 1989 till 2021. Since its release, Berserk has had 2 TV series, a three-part movie series, video games, and other media as well.

While Berserk was his masterpiece he did other works as well such as Futatabi, NOA, King of Wolves, Oro Den, Japan, Giganto Maxia, and his last original work Duranki.

I was first introduced to this series when I was 10 and ever since then I have read this masterpiece whenever a new chapter or book came out over the past 30 years of my life. Over the past 30 years, I have read so many mangas in my lifetime and none have ever left an impact in my life like Berserk.

Rest In Peace Kentaro Miura
