Ahoy Captain Cats here and today we have some sad news to report on a comic book writer/critic and an artist who passed away this past week and they were David Anthony Kraft and Esegé.

David Anthony Kraft was a comic book writer and critic who passed away on May 19 just about a week and few days before his birthday which he would have been 69. Kraft was first a rock and roll journalist before making the jump to comics in the mid-’70s. He wrote for Atlas/Seaboard, DC, and Marvel comics between the late 70s to early 80s. His run on Marvel’s Defenders and Savage She-Hulk were some of his best works to read. He was also remembered for his long-running series of interviews and criticism on comics which was titled Comics Interviews.

Segundo Garcia González AKA Esegé was a Spanish comic artist who works for Mortadelo and Mister K. He work on the series Neronius, which was a continuation of Résidus, tyran de Rome, which was created by the French duo of Blareau and Pierre Guilmard, the series was about a crazy Roman emperor. His other works were Tito Sidecar, Pomponius Triponum, Don Pyme, Parsley and El Pequeño Quijote. Esegé passed away on May 18 at the age of 63.
