Ahoy Captain Cats here and today we are going to look at the best of 2020.

The Return of Classic Series
2020 had a lot of new IPs and sometimes it’s nice to go back and play some of the classics and this year we had a lot of remasters and remakes of classic game series that were great to play. Series such as Patapon 2, Panzer Dragoon, Resident Evil 3, Final Fantasy VII, Destroy All Humans, Sam and Max Save the World, and of course Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1&2. Tony Hawk remake has set the standard of what a remaster/remake game should be, just like what Resident Evil 2 remake did a while back.

Genshin Impact
Every year there will be that one game that will come out of nowhere and take the world by storm and this year it’s Genshin impact. The game was released in September of this year and has now become a global hit with fans of the open-world action RPG genre. The look, sound, feel of the game is a breath of fresh air and the music in this game is just pure bliss.

Something For Everyone
With what is going on in the world, it looks like more and more people are picking up video games for the first time or for the first time in many many years. This is good in a way because now more people can see how great video games are and why so many of us still play to this day and have a love and passion for this media as a whole. While this is a small step, it’s a small step in the right direction and away from the old, nasty, hateful ways, many people in the past saw video games as the same way they saw D&D, evil and a waste of time.

Next week I will give you my take on gaming in 2020.
