Ahoy Captain Cats here and some big anime news happen just before the weekend.

WarnerMedia, the parent company to WB Interactive Entertainment, HBO MAX, and DC Comics are putting its anime streaming service Crunchyroll for sale for $1.5 billion and one name is said to be interested in buying Crunchyroll and its Sony.

Sony has Aniplex and Funimation under its belt and it looks like they are looking to add another anime service to its portfolio. The asking price seems too much and given the fact that Crunchyroll is 14 years old and just hit the 3 million subscribers this past July, I think its too much for the asking price and if by chance Sony passes on this deal, I wouldn’t be surprised if a mouse would come knocking on WB’s door.
