Ahoy Captain Cats here and today more news coming out of Japan as more events are either postpone or canceled due to the COVID-19 virus.

Over the weekend Universal Studios Japan, Tokyo Tower, and Tokyo Disneyland all released statements that they will all be closed starting this past weekend till mid to late March. The reason for this is to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, better known as the Corona Virus.

Sadly 6 major events that were going to take place has been canceled with no plans for rescheduling for later in the year and they are:

The Shizuoka Hobby Show, Japan’s largest hobby and model kit show
AnimeJapan, Japan’s biggest anime industry convention
2 Square Enix concerts
22/7 live event
KSL Live World 2020 live event

Not only that but also sporting events are being affected by this. New Japan Pro Wrestling and STARDOM Wrestling both canceled events with included the NJPW anniversary event, New Japan Cup, Mayu Iwatani Birthday Event and 2 major events will be held but no fans. Nippon Professional Baseball League, Japan’s Major League Baseball has also announced that the rest of the 72 preseason games will be played in empty stadiums and the J-League, Japan’s Major League Soccer stop all games till March 15. Hell, there are even talks of postponing the summer Olympics or just cancel it till next year.

While all of this is happening in Japan to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus, will the rest of the world do the same?
