Ahoy Captain Cats here and Disney is at it again with another classic getting the remake treatment and this time its Bambi.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Disney has hired Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who work on Captain Marvel and Lindsey Beer, who work on Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, to work on the screenplay. Depth of Field, the production company who worked on the indie darling film The Farewell, will be working on this project as well.

Disney is trying to pump out these remakes like one a year. Last year they released The Lion King, the year before that was Aladdin, this year it’s Mulan and next year its Cruella. Not only that, but Disney is also working on doing live-action versions of The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Is it just me or has Disney have nothing new to offer besides retelling of classic animated stories, making new Star Wars films and series and superhero films? If this is the best they can do then I’m sorry but I like to get off this ride now.
