Dragon Ball series creator is now a Knight in France

Ahoy Captain Cats here and today France just showed how much they love the Dragon Ball series.

According to the French Huffington Post and yes I’m surprised as well, that the country of France just nominated and announced that Dragon Ball series creator Akira Toriyama was knighted by the country of France. The titled he was knighted for is the Chevalier de l’Order des Arts et des Letters or the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in English. Akio Iyoku, Toriyama’s publisher took his place and stated the following:

“Mr. Toriyama is always very grateful to his French fans, who began to appreciate his works early in his career. Unfortunately, Mr. Toriyama almost never attends ceremonies and I have the honor of receiving this award in his place. He instructed me to tell you how honored he is to receive this reward from your country. ” – Akio Iyoku

• There are Three Grades to the Chevalier de l’Order des Arts et des Letters
• Commandeur(commander) – highest grade and up to 20 are given out each year
• Officier(officer) – second highest grade and up to 60 are given out each year
• Chevalier(knight) – third highest grade and up to 200 are given out each year
