Ahoy me mateys Captain Cats here. There are very few animated series that stand the test of time and even very rarely does a animated series does a genre right and make any live-action series and film look foolish and obsolete. Ghost in the Shell is that said series that does what others can’t in the cyberpunk genre, and we are going to pretend the 2017 live action film wasn’t made.

According to The Hollywood Reporter a new 3D CG series for Ghost in the Shell or GITS for short is coming in 2020 and will be on Netflix. The new series titled “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex_2045” will be directed by Shinji Aramaki, who also directed Appleseed and Kenji Kamiyama, who was the director for GITS: SAC and its sequel 2nd GIG. Both Aramaki and Kamiyama are also directing the new Ultraman series that will be on Netflix of April of 2019. GITS: SAC_2045 will be made by both Production I.G., who has been the main studio for the T.V Series and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS.

Ghost in the Shell was created by Masamune Shirow, who also created Appleseed, Dominion, Black Magic and Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn.
