Ahoy me mateys Captain Cats here. Today I’m going to review a series that came out in 2016 and continuing to this day and its Bonobono.

The series is about a sea otter and his friends, a chipmunk and a raccoon who all live in a forest and do all kind of children like games and adventures. The series was first introduced as a manga by Mikio Igarashi back in March of 1986, in 1988 Bonobono won the Kodansha Manga Award in the general category. What makes Bonobono so unique is that is mixed gag comedy with philosophical questions that make one think but in a good way.

The series first animated series was back from 1995-1996 with a total of 48 episodes. This time around from 2016-2018 it has about a total of 133 episodes and still going to this day with no end at site. Each episode is about 5-6 minutes long but is well made and to the point. The ending music for 2016 is simple yet relaxing, the ending song ‘Bonobono Suru’ is excellent and you can’t help to sing along with it.

Bonobono is a series for all ages and if you a have about a few minutes, sit down, pop it on and enjoy yourself, or with friends and family. Bonobono is currently on Crunchyroll.
