Ahoy Me Mateys Captain Cats here! Today I’m reviewing the third issue of Mirka Andolfo’s Unnatural comic, and it still going strong and starts off with a bang.
The start of issue 3 was a flashback to the night Leslie found out her mom was with someone else and heard her said some cumbersome stuff. Soon after we see her in the present being review and getting ready for her ‘date night.’ I can’t help it but feel sad for her, she couldn’t have a say in anything and ended up ready for her blind date night, and I have to say Leslie looks beautiful. Soon after we see her date and her expression was timeless, which made me laugh, then we move to Trish visiting the author of the book from the last issue, and they had an interesting chat about ‘Tijoux,’ the name of the book. After a word of advice to Trish, the story moves back to Leslie and her date at a restaurant, and it looks going well so far. The talk between her and her date was entertaining, and out of the blue they kiss, and she thinks about you know who during the kiss and it made her stop and second guess her action. Soon after she wants to walk out and everything turned into an action thriller movie scene, and the change of pace was a good call here. After we see her pass out in the bathroom and see a sacrifice situation, she wakes up and soon finds out the very shocking news.
Issue 3 was great in terms of change of pace, the first two issue felt like it was paced on purpose. This issue made the transition from easy to fast pace, and I think it was a right call, it made me wanted to see what was going to happen next to Leslie. The art and storytelling are still top notches, and there are a few pages that the art was beautiful, especially Leslie in the black dress. I want to find out what’s going to happen in the next issue and I have to say this: read this series! I think this is one of the best series of 2018 in my book.
So what do you think of this series so far? Have you picked it up yet? Let us know in the comments!
