Many of us who grew up wanting to be part of the video game industry, but weren’t good enough due to not knowing anything about coding now have an excellent resource to turn that one passion into a nice hobby with Code the Classics Vol 1.

The book was created and published by The Raspberry Pi Press, and yes they are the same company that developed the Raspberry Pi SBC ( Single Board Computer), and the book was written by David Crookes, Andrew Gillett, Liz Upton, Eben Upton, Dan Malone, Sean M. Tracey, and Allister Brimble.

The book will give you a good understanding of the basics of coding and will provide lots of tools to help you to understand, develop, and create a basic video game from days of old. The book also is a great way for kids of all ages who want to create video games and are interested in technology, this is a great stepping stone for them.

I wouldn’t get this book for those who have no idea how to code, are not interested in gaming or tech, or already know this stuff. Overall Code the Classics Vol 1 is worth its weight in gold for what is it, a wonderful guide on how video game code works with lots of free tools and easy-to-understand instructions. Vol 2 will be out in November of this year and will have a review of it once it’s out.
