Ahoy Captain Cats here and today I’m going to tell you what I think about the first season of Invincible.
In case you haven’t seen it or have never heard of it, Invincible is about Mark Grayson, a teenager who just got his superpowers and sees what life is like for a superhero and we see that it is not what it’s cracked up to be.
The series does a fantastic job with retelling the now-classic comic book series of the same name that was created by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley and ran from 2003 till 2018 with a total of 144 issues. While the series did take some liberties and focus on the main storyline, I think it was a good call on that move, in terms of the reason there were 8 episodes in this first season and each episode is almost an hour long. Each episode took its time in telling the main and sub storylines in this season and make the viewer see what happens with each choice anyone in this series world chooses to do and such, and it either ends well or very bad.
The animation and voice acting in this series are great, it can easily be one of the best superhero series outside of both Marvel and DC Comics. The animation is done wonderfully, from the character designs, this series environments and the aftermaths of each fight are done beautifully. The fights and blood and gore in this series are great, when the onslaught of fighting happens, you are in for a bloody treat. The cast for Invincible is one of the best to date in terms of bringing life to each character, especially Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, and J.K. Simmons as The Graysons.
Invincible is right now setting the bar for what other comic series will be on the big and small screen in 2021 and this series makes The Snyder Cut of Justice League look bad.
