Ahoy Captain Cats here and today I’m going to give you all some recommendations for comic series that you can read while we are all sitting at home. Just to let you all know I’m not going to recommend any from any big-name comic series such as batman or spider man because those are the type of comic heroes that are always in the sun that I want to offer something else that is new and completely different from what you read.
Image Comics
For the past few years Image has stood out the most when it comes to its original content and it shows. Comic series such as Alex + Ada, Black Magick, Crowded, Ice Cream Man, Monstress, paper girls, unearth and unnatural have shown there is more to it then just superhero stories.
Aliens and Predator
Two series that tend to be forgotten by the comic book community are the Alien and Predator series. Both series have years of content and some stories even better than their movie counterparts. If you want a good place to start you can try and get either the Aliens or Predator Omnibus which are packed with tons of content in each volume.
European Comics
Another great area for comics is in European comics. While European writers and artists have worked in Marvel and DC Comics over the years, there is a huge amount of them creating wonderful and outstanding works such as Maus, unpopular culture, Asterix, 2000 AD, Rogue Trooper and Judge Dredd.
Independent Comics
There is so much out there it’s hard to know where to start. The indie comics scene has it all for everyone and I do mean everyone. With graphic novels such as I moved to Los Angeles To Work In Animation, Waves, Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me, and Bloom to series such as Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Invisible Kingdom, Something Is Killing The Children, Die, Space Bandits, Punchline and Gold Digger.
As you can see there are so many comics books and graphic novels out there, the only question is there is what are you going to read.
