Ahoy Captain Cats here and let us talk about Ramen
Ramen, a Japanese soup that is simple yet complex, savory with a bold taste and toppings that can rival any kind of dish on any given day. With so many ramen shops around, it is so hard to appreciate the many different flavors and styles that are out there, that is why we need festivals like the San Diego Ramen Festival.
The San Diego Ramen Festival has been around since 2016 and its a joint collaboration of Silk Road Production (the creator of Ramen Festival), Azuna-Kai a non profit organization and Japan Society of San Diego and Tijuana, promoting goodwill and understanding between the people of Japan, the City of San Diego and the City of Tijuana. This one night out of the year you can indulge yourself in the many ramen vendors that are here with the likes of Ajisen, Beshock Ramen & Sake Bar, Hachi Ramen, Karami Ramen, Hunters Home Kitchen, Tajima Ramen and Underbelly North Park. Each vendor brings their style of ramen, their taste, and flavors, and no two ramen will taste and look the same. While you wait in line for your ramen you can see live performances from Genbu Daiko, Kimono Club of San Diego, and La Jolla Taiko to name a few of a list of wonderful live acts and performances.
The San Diego Ramen Festival is one of those festivals that you must go every year, even if it is for one night. Great food, a lively atmosphere with great performances and the location just makes this worth going. This is one local festival that has to be on your “must go” list for next year.
