What was once the biggest video game convention in the world and part of the “Big Three” (the other two are Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show) is now abandoned just as the old city of Babylon was 1000 years ago and that convention was Electronic Entertainment Expo or better known as E3 for short.
The first E3 was back on May 11-13 1995 at its home till the very end, The Los Angeles Convention Center. After the success of the first event with more than 40,000 attending and thus E3 was born. Over the years E3 became bigger and better and was 100% industry trade show, many of us had to look from the outside to see what made it so special and a dream to go one day. It was in 2009-2019 that many who went to E3 would say it was its last run due to what was being released during this time and what was going on behind the scenes.
In 2019 there was a leak of over 2,000 names of media and social media influencers and with COVID-19 shutting down everything all over the world in 2020, it put E3 in a pinch, and sadly like many companies and events, E3 closed its door for good in 2023.
I was able to go to one E3 and it was everything I had hoped to be and more. I would never forget it and maybe just maybe it could come back again.
