Well, I had a week to think about how I felt about this year’s edition of San Diego Comic Fest, and after some time, I have to say I really enjoyed it. It was one of the most comfortable conventions I’ve been to this year.

This year’s theme was all about Harvey Kurtzman and Rod Serling and oh did they deliver on it. The panels, guests, and mini-exhibit they had for them were on the spot. Besides that, there was the artist ally that was fine, and the vendor hall that was humble but wonderful at the same time due to how you can interact with the vendors and hear great stories and such, but to me the best place to be was both the small press area and the gaming area. The small press was a blast because you can interact with the editors and creators, have long talks, get connections, get feedback, and more. The gaming area was wonderful due to how cozy and relaxed it was, not only that but free classes on how to paint minis and get great feedback from the teachers was something I haven’t seen this year.

Overall Comic Fest was a home run this year and the location at the Westin Carlsbad Resort and Spa added this relaxing vibe that I must say was a perfect choice for it and I hope they will be there again next year.
