New Manga Award Announced

In a press release, it was announced that a new manga award will to held this year Anime NYC, and the the new manga award is called The American Manga Awards.

The AMA is being co-organized by LeftField Media, the creators, and organizers for Anime NYC and Japan Society, a non-profit organization that has been connecting the world with art, culture, language, business, and society from Japan since 1907. The AMA will have 8 categories and here are the categories:

Mangaka Hall of Fame
Manga Publishing Hall of Fame
Best New Manga
Best Continuing Manga Series
Best New Edition of Classic Manga
Best Translation
Best Lettering
Best Publication Design

The event will be held on the eve of Anime NYC and it will be hosted by Matt Alt. Anime NYC will held at the Javits Center on August 23-25. Once there is more information we will let you know, especially who is nominated.
