Ahoy Captain Cats here and today I’m going to review the latest entry to the Tsukihime fighting game series and that is Melty Blood: Type Lumina.

Type Lumina is a reboot of some sort in terms of storyline to the main storyline that took place back in 2002 with the first game. The last game before this was released back in 2008 with the final version being titled Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code was released back in 2011.

After a 10-year wait did the reboot live up to many of the fans’ expectations, the would be a big yes. The animations, background, frame rate, and net code are all perfect. While it’s just a barebone of a game in terms of just playing a story mode, versus and online mode, it makes up with by far one of the most fast pace, strategic, well-rounded fighting games that came out this year. Developer French Bread has created a fighting game of the year winner and a contender for game of the year. Unlike other fighting games like the Marvel VS Capcom series, Melty Blood is more balanced, easy to play hard to master gameplay, and the background environment, look and feel is by far on another level.

Melty Blood: Type Lumina is available now on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
