Today we have some sad news to report as over the weekend the Grammy-nominated electronic artist Sophie passed away at the age of 34. It was reported by many sources that it was an accidental death while trying to watch the full moon in Athens, Greece.

Know also Sophie Xeon, the Scottish musician, record producer, singer, songwriter, and DJ who created a hyperkinetic pop or hyper pop music for short, that as of now, no one can re-create. Her first LP titled “Product” in 2015 was something that came out of the blue. With hits such as “Bipp,” “Lemonade,” “L.O.V.E,” and “Just Like We Never Say Goodbye” Sophie was making the right kind of noise and got the music world talking.

Three years later in 2018, she would go on to release what would be her last album “Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides.” The album was a hit and got Sophie her only Grammy nod for best dance/electronic album back in 2019. This album put her on the map and she would soon work with the likes of Charli XCX, Vince Staples, Kim Petras, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, and Namie Amuro.

Sophie will join the list of many young artists who died so young but left a body of work that can influence many up and coming artists for years to come. All of us here send our condolences to her family and love one that knew her so well.
