Today on underground we are going to look at one of the most interesting covers from a classic song that was done by The Doors and that song is People Are Strange.

First a little history about the song. The song was on The Doors’ second album “Strange Days” which was released in September of 1967. it was said that drummer John Densmore and guitarist Robby Krieger were visited by a deeply depressed Jim Morrison. All three men went for a walk and soon after Morrison felt euphoric and started to write the song and soon after the song became a classic.

While the song was cover by other artists such as Echo & the Bunnymen, Stina Nordenstam, Twiztid, and Evanescence, it was Tiny Tim who did it best and first. In 2006 a boxset of unreleased music from Tiny Tim which was called “God Bless Tiny Tim: The Complete Resprise Studio Master…And More” and his cover of people are strange was haunting as it was great. Tiny Tim went all out in terms of vocals and you can hear it from beginning to end and once the song was over you will be surprised in how come no one talks about this cover.

Many people tend to forget that some of the best covers from great songs are the ones no one will least expect it, especially from an artist who are famous from one style of music.
