Yo Ho. WeRCatz here.

People are lamenting the sudden loss of Ennio Morricone as he died on 6 July at the age of 91 following complications after a fall. His legendary works are considered masterpieces as he worked in over 500 scores and works. I have already discussed some of his lesser-known modern works. So let’s dive into his works in general:

What comes to mind first from the name Ennio Morricone? The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The soundtrack alone is one of the most influential works in musical history as some of the pieces instantly became timeless classics.

The classic 1988 drama Cinema Paradiso is a work that uses music as emotions throughout the film. Ennio worked with his son Andrea Morricone for the score and both earned a BAFTA award in 1991 for Best Film Music. Watch this film!

Even though the movie was a flop, Red Sonja was another project from Morricone. Morricone’s music does not disappoint.

To conclude, Morricone also worked on television with works from Space 1999, the 1978 FIFA World Cup theme, The Endless Game, and Perlasca – Un eroe Italiano.

There are still many, many works to talk about when it comes to Ennio Morricone. He is gone but he left his mark with the world.
