This week in underground we are going to talk about a live concert that took place back in the ’80s and is now available to see and that concert is: Prince and the Revolution Live.

Prince and the Revolution Live was a live concert that took place at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY on March 30, 1985. Live was also broadcasted live as well in Europe as the final act in the Rock Night and later was released on DVD in the 2017 deluxe edition of Purple Rain.

The concert is something that you must see: the stage, the hot live crowd, the artistic atmosphere, and of course, the music. The set is a mix of Prince’s previous albums Controversy, 1999, and the touring album Purple Rain. There were even moments where Prince pushed the boundaries between expressing art and being risque because of Prince’s wardrobe choices throughout the concert.

Overall, Prince and the Revolution: Live was a one-of-a-kind experience that many people can see now even when they couldn’t see him at his concerts. Thanks to the partnership of The Prince Estate and Warner Records, you can see this concert on Prince’s main YouTube channel while having the option to donate to support the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization. Google will match viewer donations with $2 for every $1 up to $5 million dollar.
