Comic Book News Round-Up

Ahoy Captain Cats here and it’s time for another round of comic book news round-up.

New Predator Series Coming Soon
Dark Horse Comics announced the release date for the upcoming third chapter in the Predator Hunter series with Predator Hunter III. Chris Warner is back to continue the story he started back with the first book in 2017 and the second book in 2018. This time he will be teaming up with Brian Thies and colorist Wes Dzoiba and the series will be coming out in February of 2020.

The Rock is Black Adam
This one came out of the blue as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced not only that he will be Black Adam, but also a picture that was drawn by Jim Lee, but also the release date of the film! The Rock also had a heartfelt message about what it meant for him to be Black Adam, you can see the artwork and what he had to say here. Black Adam will be in theaters on December 22, 2021.

Tom Spurgeon Passed Away
Lastly, sad news to report that Tom Spurgeon, an award-winning comic book journalist has passed away at the age of 50. He was best known for his site The Comic Reporter and was also the editor for the Comics Journal from 1994-1999. Spurgeon also went on to write three comic book history books, wrote the comic strip Wildwood, and won three Eisner Award for Best Comic-Related Periodical/Journalism in 2010, 2012 and 2013. All of us here sends his family and loved ones our deepest condolences to them.
