Ahoy Captain Cats here and today I’m going to review the second season to last year’s surprise hit Kingdom.
The second season picks up where the first season left off and it never looks back. The story was at the heart of it here and played a huge role in season two. Everyone from the main characters, supporting characters and even the zombies shine bright in season two. Out of all of everyone, it was Bea Doona as Seo-bi and Kim Hye-jun as Queen Consort Cho stole the series with how they made every scene they were worth their weight in gold. The cinematography was top notch and the environment setting also were at their best in season two.
While the pacing was a mixed bag this time around and the odd amount of run time each of the six episodes had, the series made up for it in the sheer tension of what was going to happen next and the plot twist and ending stole the show in season two.
Like last year Kingdom is worth the watch and should be on your playlist on Netflix and I hope they make a season three of this now must-see series and goes to show that South Korea is the new place to go watch great shows in any genre.
