The Castlevania Anniversary Collection Review

Ahoy Captain Cats here and today I’m going to review the Castlevania Anniversary Collection.

The Castlevania Anniversary Collection is part of the Konami 50th anniversary series due to Konami turn 50 this past March, and they have already released the Arcade Anniversary Collection, which was a HUGE disappointment by the way. Konami made that up with The Castlevania Anniversary Collection in a BIG way by issuing the following games:

• Castlevania – Originally released on the NES
• Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest – Originally released on the NES
• Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse – Originally released on the NES
• Super Castlevania IV – Originally released on the SNES
• Castlevania Bloodlines – Originally released on the Sega Genesis
• Castlevania the Adventure – Originally released on the Nintendo Game Boy
• Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge – Originally released on the Nintendo Game Boy
• Kid Dracula – Originally released in Japan only

Controls for the games are great but sometimes a little off, but with some time you get used to it. The graphics are just like of days of old, and that is fine with me, I grew up playing these games and seeing how Konami went out and had M2 to work on this project, they made the wise decision to leave the graphics and music the same. The only bad thing I would have to say is they are all the North American releases, except for Kid Dracula which is the first time the world gets to play this one, luckily Konami has said that they will have an update with the Japanese version of these game, which is an excellent move on themselves.
