1994 was a good year for animation, with the releases of animated series such as The Critic, Duckman, Gargoyles, Spider-man, and Space Ghost Coast to Coast, there is one that stood out for all the right reasons and that series was The Tick.

The Tick was created by Ben Edlund back in 1986. The Tick was originally a newsletter mascot for a chain of comic book stores in the Boston, Massachusetts area called New England Comics. Soon after The Tick became very popular and ended up getting his comic book series, animated series, and 2 live-action series. Today we are looking at the animated series and see what made it so special.

The animated series ran from 1994 to 1996 with a total of 3 seasons on Fox when they had a block for kid shows that was called Fox Kids. The series was just one big bag of crazy comic book comedy satire that cannot be matched to this day. You had characters beside the Tick such as Johnny Polite, Captain Lemming, Die Fledermaus, American Maid, Two-Eye Jack, Ottoman, Bi-Polar Bear, Doorman, and of course Chairface Chippendale. The voice acting in this series is top-notch, they bring this crazy world to life and everyone who worked on this series deserves their moment in the sun.

The Tick had a total of 36 episodes of very very odd adventures that at the end of the day will grow on you and you might end up loving them. If you do end up loving the series I would highly recommend you to read the comics and watch both the live-action series.
