Over the weekend The British Academy of Film and Television Arts or BAFTA for short and its annual film awards happen and this may lead to who might win at the upcoming Oscars.

Oppenheimer took home the most awards with seven wins including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director. Oppenhimer is based on the 2005 biography entitled American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenhimer and talks about his rise to fame and downfall.

Another film that won big was Poor Things which won five BAFTAs including Best Actress for Emma Stone. Poor Things is based on a 1992 novel of the same name and is about a young woman from the Victorian era who was resurrected by a scientist.

Lastly in the animation category The Boy and the Heron who best-animated film, which beat Spider-Man: Acriss the Spider-Verse, which has won an Annie Award for best feature film that The Boy and the Heron was also nominated for as well.

All these wins may or may not influence the winners of the Oscars in a few weeks we all have to wait and see.
