Yo Ho, WeRCatz here!

On March 10, the new Luther film The Fallen Sun premiered on Netflix. It stars Idris Elba and has some of the original TV cast as well. Andy Serkis serves as the film’s villain.

I was excited when Luther would come out. The best part is that the film is written by creator Neil Cross. This means that the film is a well-made Luther episode, except that this film goes beyond TV parameters in its subject matter. Andy Serkis does a great job showing how his character torments DCI Luther while Luther is already getting tortured for his good deeds.

The flow of the story, the character development, and the climax are superb. One can’t help but feel that the crimes portrayed in The Fallen Sun may actually exist in real life: during the climactic showdown between Luther and Robey (Serkis) there exist sick fucks that like the dark and nasty with their money going into it on the dark web.

If you’re a Luther fan, this is a film you don’t want to miss. I thoroughly enjoyed The Fallen Sun. There’s a supposed sequel film in the works and I will patiently wait for it!
