One of the best arcade soccer games was released 30 years ago and still to this day people still play this and this game is Super Sidekicks.

The game was developed and published by SNK in 1992 and was the first of 4 games in this series that were released in the arcade before going to home console later down the road. The game had 12 international teams divided into two groups, group A and group B. Group A had Germany, Italy, Spain, England, Mexico, and Japan, while Group B had Argentina, Holland, Brazil, France, United States, and South Korea. After picking your team, it’s eight games till you reach the finals of the “SNK Cup” and try to win it all.

The game series is famous for its fast pace gameplay, its first-person shoot-to-goal, and it’s now the iconic showcase of how the teams react to your goals. While the first game was great, many fans of the series will argue that the best game in the series is either Super Sidekicks 2: The World Championship and Super Sidekicks 3: The Next Glory.

If your burnt out of FIFA and want some old-school arcade fun give Super Sidekicks a chance, but be warned there are still a lot of people who play these games to this day, including me.
