The Midnight Gospel Canceled

Well, I’m not surprised by this news as it has been the new normal at Netflix as of late. The Midnight Gospel, the animated podcast series that was created by Duncan Trussell and Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward was canceled by Netflix.

The news of the series cancelation came from Trussell himself via his Twitter account and stated the following:

“The Midnight Gospel was cancelled by Netflix. In my mind, there’s one more season but the sentient glass ‘deciding’ cube they keep in their catacombs vibrated ‘Now more.’ And it’s hard to argue with a cube. PS I’m so lucky that the folks at Netflix rolled the dice and let us make such a strange show. They were supremely supportive all the way through and I’ll love them forever for it.” – Duncan Trussell

The series had a positive response from both critics and the audience, but it wasn’t enough for it to get a second season. The Midnight Gospel joins a list of animated series that are not coming back for another season or canceled during development.
