Yo Ho, WeRCatz here!

Clint Eastwood is back with another movie titled Cry Macho. Based on the novel by N. Richard Nash, Cry Macho tells the tale about an ex-rodeo star (Eastwood) who travels to Mexico so that he can bring back a young man (Eduardo Minett) to his father (Dwight Yoakam) in the US.

I can see from other news outlets that this film is not necessarily Eastwood’s best. He did great on the scenery and the musical score, but the tone and the themes weren’t there at times. I did enjoy the rooster in the film and the differences between trying to be a “macho man” and just being a man. Interesting topic, but I felt it was either told already before or the theme felt a bit flat.

Don’t get me wrong, this film was a good effort for Eastwood. But it seems like he could have done a bit better at other topics.
