Ahoy Captain Cats here and today I’m going to review the second season of the 2017 run-a-way hit series, Miss Kobayashi Dragon Maid, with 2021 Miss Kobayashi Dragon Maid S.

The series picks up sometime after season one and things look and feel the same, that is until a new dragon comes into the picture of llulu. Soon after some shenanigans, the series focused on some of the other characters and their personal issues and made you feel for them.

Kyoto Animation, who did the first season, did the second season and did a phenomenal job in this season, especially the second half of the season where you can tell by just to movement and background alone. The music was still great, especially the opening theme and ending credits which was also the highlight of the first season as well.

The only bad thing I would have to say about season two was it took a while to get itself establish. The first 2 to 3 episodes just felt like fillers to the rest of the 13 episode season and I wish they could have done a better job at it but that’s just me.

Overall Miss Kobayashi Dragon Maid S is worth the watch and is one of the best anime that came out of the 2021 summer season. No word yet if the series will be back for a third, but if they don’t I think how the way Miss Kobayashi Dragon Maid S has ended I think it went out on a high note.
