Ahoy Captain Cats here and today I’m going to review a series that just finished and that series is So I’m a Spider, So What?

The anime series is based on the Japanese novel series of the same name by Okina Baba which was first released back in May of 2015 and still going on to this day. The series follows a high school girl who is reincarnated into a spider in a fantasy world and has to survive this world in any way she can as a spider. While this is going on the rest of her classmates are also reincarnated into this fantasy and we see them in a D&D-type storyline with a small twist.

The main thing I love about this anime series is the main character and her storyline, the little spider who could. Her storyline is the heart and soul of this series and from start to finish, the protagonist and her storyline were worth the watch alone.

While that is great and all, the rest of the series fell flat throughout the series run. The characters were boring, predictable, and just had no originality to them at all. Even with the twist they drag this series to the ground and don’t get me started with the series’ last episode. That episode alone looked and felt rushed, uneven, left a lot more questions than answers, and overall left a bad taste in my mouth. So I’m a Spider, So What? Is a good anime at best, but with the supporting cast felt like they were just there to keep the story going, I would say watch it just for the spider and her storyline.

So I’m a Spider, So What? Is on CrunchyRoll to watch right now.
