Ahoy Captain Cats here and today we review the highly anticipated comic book series on Netflix and that series is Sweet Tooth.

The series is based on the comic series of the same name that was created by Jeff Lemire that was published by Vertigo and ran from September 2009 till January 2013 and many people, myself included, would say this series is best described as Mad Max meets Bambi.

Both the comic and TV series follow Gus, a boy/deer hybrid who spent most of his young life in hiding in the forest until he befriends a man named Jepperd and promises him to take him to a sanctuary for hybrids like Gus. From here we see from Gus’s point of view what the world is really like and how close to home it is to our real-life due to some of the topics and themes the series talks about.

The cast in the series is great, especially Christian Convery as Gus who I think is spot on to how Gus was in the original comic series run. Sweet Tooth is a great series to watch and with only eight episodes in total for season one, this is something you should watch over the weekend. Hopefully, Sweet Tooth will get picked up for another season and who knows maybe we might get the whole comic series to be told in a total for 3 or 4 seasons.
