Best of Films in 2020

Ahoy Captain Cats here and today we are going to look at the best things that came out of films in 2020.

Parasite Made History
No one saw this coming, including myself. At the 92nd Academy Awards, the South Korean film did the impossible, it became the first film in Oscar history to win both best international film and best picture. The film also won the best director and with this, has opened the gates to US audiences to international films like no other film has done before!

Trolls World Tour and Universal Set the Trend For The Rest
While a lot of things haven’t been going so well for the film world, it was Universal and Trolls World Tour to set the stage for what is happening now. On the weekend of its opening weekend, Universal went and released Trolls on streaming services such as Amazon Prime, Comcast, Apple TV, Direct TV, Vudu, and Youtube. While this did piss off a lot of people in Hollywood, it did create a new way for the film goes to not miss out on the latest films at the comfort of their homes.

Streaming Goes International
More and more streaming services are trying to get everyone’s attention when their content, it has become more and more clear that people are looking elsewhere to see new content. Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon are bringing more and more international films to us and it looks like Asia and Europe are the new places to see when it comes to films.

Next week I will give my personal opinion of what I think of films in 2020.
