Yo Ho, WeRCatz here!

Hubie Halloween premiered on October 7, 2020, and stars Adam Sandler as the titular character Hubie Dubois, a delicatessen worker in Salem, Massachusetts during Halloween.

Dubois loves Halloween but is the butt of Salem’s jokes by just being eccentric. The town doesn’t take him seriously

This movie is a light-hearted send-up of Horror-on-Halloween-movie tropes with a dash of Sandler’s greatest hits. I enjoyed some of the cameos from Happy Madison Production’s other films. Ben Stiller returns as Hal L. from Happy Gilmore while a child proclaims his family motto “O’Doyle rules!” from Billy Madison.

All-in-all, Hubie Halloween was ok. A little diversion from life’s realities doesn’t hurt every now and then. The cast was pretty good, the story was ok and some unexpected moments does indeed make one laugh. They should have had someone dress up as the infamous penguin from Billy Madison while someone else dresses up like Robbie Hart from The Wedding Singer. So many references to be given.
