Sega Developing A Live-Action Yakuza Film

Ahoy Captain Cats here and today some great news coming out from Sega.

First reported by Variety, that Sega with 1212 Entertainment and Wild Sheep Content are working to bring the Yakuza game series to life. For many who don’t know what this video game series is all about here is a mini summary of a very rich character and plot-driven story:

The first seven games you play as Kazuma Kiryu, a man who time and time again falls back into the yakuza world, and each time he leaves, that world ends up pulling him back in for better or for worse.

What made the games so special is that it happens in real-time and its storytelling, for example, the first Yakuza game was released in 2005 and the story takes place in 2005. As each game is released later down the road you can see the characters, environment, and such change with the time, also the story as well. Hopefully, they will do this series justice and don’t mess this up.
