Ahoy Captain Cats here and today we are going to review one of 2018 most violent and controversial series first film and that is Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown.

The film starts with a recap of what happened in the TV Series and for many, it will remind them of what made this series the talk of the town in 2018. Soon after we see some time pass and a group of adventures trying to complete a quest which ended as you expect due to they didn’t know what they were doing and you see what happened to them. Soon after we see Goblin Slayer and his group, Priestess, High Elf Archer, Dwarf Shaman, and Lizard Priest are summon by Sword Maiden to look after for the group of adventures who went missing because one of them belongs to a royal family. After traveling to where the group was last seen, the group finds out what happens to them and has to deal with a group of goblins who somehow learn to fight back and more.

From here we see how Goblin Slayer and company have to fight a bigger threat while saving someone and a sword while making sure they don’t get killed and leave the town open for a massive goblin raid. After watching this I was left content but also felt that they have dropped the ball on a few things. For starter I didn’t care for the person who was saved, she felt like an afterthought and that is kind of sad because they could have expanded on her more and maybe be a great way to bridge the gap from season 1 to season 2 if season 2 is in the works. Second, they could have expanded on the idea of goblins learning how to fight back and such to set up season 2, and lastly, this felt like an OVA than a film.

Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown is a watch and it clocks in about an hour and a half, minus the recap which is about 30 minutes so you have about a good 40-50 minute OVA, and its a shame because they could have done so much more with this and lead into a season 2.
