Ahoy Captain Cats here and today we are going to talk about one of the biggest fighting game tournament in the USA that had to cancel and that was EVO.

Last Friday Shoryuken, the parent company for the Evolution Championship Series or EVO for short, release a statement that you can read here. In this statement, Shoryuken announced that Joey Cuellar, one of the founders of EVO, will no longer be involved with both the parent company and EVO in any way at all. As of this moment, they made Tony Cannon will be the current CEO of EVO.

In case you are wondering why is this involving the cancellation of EVO Online, it is due to reports of abuse allegations to the now-former CEO. Soon after gaming studios such as NetherRealm, Capcom, Namco Bandai, Mane6, and more have announced they will not be part of EVO Online. Other famous names in the fighting game community such as Maximilian Christiansen, Stephen Lyon, Dominique McLean, and James Chen will be not part of EVO Online as well.

Now after all is said and done, this left a huge ugly mark not only to EVO but also to the fighting game community as a whole. How long will it take for the damage to be repaired is uncleared but from here on out the gaming community as a whole MUST get their act together at all cost!
