Ahoy Captain Cats here and today we are going to look at the season premiere of one of the best shows that came out in 2019 and that series is DC Universe/HBO MAX Doom Patrol.

The series had three episodes for its second season premiere and they were “Fun Size Patrol,” “Tyme Patrol,” and “Pain Patrol” so I’m just going to summarizes all three episodes and after give you my though as a whole

Fun Size Patrol
The second season picks up where the first season left off with the team being small, angry with Niles for finding out the truth of why this happens to them all, and we are introduced to Niles’s daughter, Dorothy Spinner. We find out what is her ability which is bringing her imaginary friends to life and it could be the beginning of the end of the world……again.

Tyme Patrol
After the team finds out the deal that Niles did to bring them back to regular size, Niles is trying to find a way to stay alive longer to protect Dorothy. Rita, Cliff, and Jane are sent to get Continuinium, an element that controls time that belongs to Dr. Jonathan Tyme and fail. Cyborg goes back to Detroit to join a PTSD and finds someone he likes and Larry finds out his son has died and goes to his funeral to find out he had another son.

Pain Patrol
We are introduced to Red Jack, a being who feeds on the pain of others to live and he kidnaps Larry and sends a piece of his bandage to Rita and Niles. While they are going to save Larry, Cliff, with Jane as his tag along goes to see his daughter and tell her the truth, but ended badly. Dorothy plays hide and seek with her friends and Cyborg finds out that the person he likes is not what she seems.

All three episodes are great and not only live up to the series expectations, but they went above and beyond in every way. The music, the setting, the risk of introducing new characters, and the raw emotional feelings and guilt that all of the characters have with themselves. This series was a breakout hit in 2019 and in 2020 it looks like it will continue to do so. You can watch Doom Patrol on either DC Universe and HBO Max.
