Ahoy Captain Cats here and today I’m going to give some recommendations to anime series and films that you can watch while you’re at home. I’m not going to name famous and fan-favorite series because almost everyone who is into anime would have seen them already and I want to offer something different that you or someone you know can watch and enjoy.

Dorohedoro
One of the oddest series of the winter 2020 season was one of the best and is one of two series that already have anime of the year contenders. This series is a mix of comedy and lightheartedness with death and mayhem with stylish artwork and music that just brings this series to life.

Land of the Lustrous
The Studio behind Beastars created this beautiful yet mysterious series that was first aired back in the Fall 2017 season. The 12 episode series is a must-watch if you are looking for something while you’re waiting for season two of Beastars or want to see what you have missed out on this hidden gem.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and 2nd GIG
While the new Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 is a few weeks away to stream on Netflix, now is a great time to watch the first two series in this cyberpunk classic. SAC was first aired back in the Fall 2002 season and had a total of 26 episodes and its sequel 2nd GIG was released back in the Winter 2004 season and both were instant classics in storytelling, animation and voice acting cast and characters.

Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll
Lastly, we have a spin-off side story to the Winter 2018 series Violet Evergarden. The film is now available on Netflix and it takes place sometime after the series ended and the film leads up to the Violet Evergarden the Movie which is a continuation of the series. The film was pushed back due to the arson attack at Kyoto Animation back in July of 2019.

There you go that is our recommendation for you for anime to watch.
