Ahoy Captain Cats here and I’m going to do a mini editorial about the expectations for cartoons in 2020 and don’t worry it is short and to the point.

With what came out, ended and somehow still around, 2019 was somewhat of an odd year. Sure we saw new series such as DC Super Hero Girls, Tuca & Bertie, Green Eggs and Ham, Harley Quinn, Steven Universe Future and Snoopy in Space, but other new series either fell flat to were just too stupid and boring. While there was an indie darling standout such as Hazbin Hotel and Netflix bringing back Invader Zim and Rocko’s Modern Life, I don’t think we will see or get that same impact in 2020.

The reason I say that is because, with the likes of HBO, Netflix, Disney, and Cartoon Network trying to come up with the next big thing in animation, it floods the market with so much content and with that it’s hard to tell what is good and what is bad thanks to the PR and marketing to the masses who want to see a new show that reminds them of a show that was canceled or just ended.

All in all 2020 might start slow, we might see the same types of cartoons but if someone out there may have a gem on their hand and let us hope we all get to see it.
